Pan-baked toasts with cheese, ham and pepperoni

| | | |

Whatever you say, toasts are always a good idea for a quick snack. You can layer them with your favourite type of cheese, cold cuts, roasted poultry, eggs, fish or vegetable spread. They are great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can toast the bread in a toaster, grill it in the oven or crisp it in a pan. This time, I invite you to try such pan-made toasts. In this recipe, I used ham, slightly spicy pepperoni, cheese as well as barbecue sauce and oregano.

I start preparing pan-baked toasts by spreading butter on each slice of toasted bread. I place cold cuts, cheese, sauce and herbs on two of the slices and then cover them with the other two slices. I place the prepared toasts on a hot pan and bake until golden brown on both sides. I serve the crispy toasts with lettuce, sprouts and often also rocket or corn salad. I encourage you to check out the following recipe for pan-baked toasts with cheese, ham and pepperoni, and please enjoy.

How to make pan-baked toasts with cheese, ham and pepperoni.

Place slices of toast bread on a kitchen board, then cover each slice with soft butter on each side. Place a slice of cheese on two of the bread slices, then place two slices of ham and four slices of pepperoni on top. Spread with barbecue sauce, sprinkle with oregano and cover with two slices of ham and a slice of cheese.

Heat up a thick-bottomed non-stick pan and when it is hot, place the toasts on it and bake it on a low heat until it is lightly browned. At this point, turn it over and continue baking – the toast will bake for about 12-15 minutes in total. Place the toast on a kitchen board, cut in half and serve immediately while still hot.
