Salad with blue cheese sauce and cranberries
Lettuce served by itself is not liked by too many people. Add a bit of sauce and various kinds of vegetables or seeds and it immediately changes its taste.
Yesterday I prepared spaghetti for dinner and, as an addition to it, I served a lettuce-based salad. Everyone was delighted with the dish.
The salad went really well with tomato sauce and meatballs. Probably also because the sauce I served the salad with was based on blue cheese.
Blue cheese has a quite characteristic taste so it is worth combining it with something sweet. I used cranberries – a combination worth recommending.

Ingredients for salad with cranberries.
- 2 little gem lettuces
- 150 g sour cream
- a pinch of cayenne pepper
- 70 g of blue cheese
- 2 tablespoons of dried cranberries
How to make salad with cheese sauce and cranberries.
Rinse the lettuces, dry them but do not cut them with a knife. Instead, tear the leaves off the head. Lay the leaves on a serving platter or on a large plate.
Pour the sour cream into a tall container, add crumbled blue cheese and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Blend to a smooth consistency.
Drizzle the salad evenly with the sauce. Sprinkle the top with cranberries.

Good to know when making salad with blue cheese.
The first time I made this salad, I only used cranberries as an addition.
However, the next time I thought that I would make it more diverse. In addition to cranberries, I also added roasted cashew nuts. Total hit. I encourage you to try this option.
