Grilled fish with lemon, garlic and parsley is a light and quick dish. To prepare grilled fish, start with buying good-quality fresh fish. A fish shop and a fish market are in my opinion the best places to get it. Fish such as halibut, perch, trout, zander and sea bream work best on the grill. As for the method of grilling fish, you can grill it on a special grill pan, on a garden grill or in an oven with a grill function. I have prepared the grilled fish from the recipe below in the oven. I grilled the whole fish, not fillets or pieces of it, for a total of 20 minutes, 10 minutes on each side. The finished fish had a crispy, roasted skin on the outside and juicy, delicious meat on the inside. It tasted fantastic, as my husband also confirmed.

What to serve grilled fish with? The fish can be served by itself with an addition of tartar sauce and lemon wedges. However, if you want a more filling dish, serve the grilled fish with fries, baked potatoes or a light salad. They will all perfectly complement the taste of grilled fish.

Ingredients for grilled fish.

  • 2 sea bass fish (500 g each fish)
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • a small bunch of parsley
  • 1 big clove of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of oil

How to make grilled fish.

Wash the fish under running water and dry it thoroughly with a paper towel. Put a few slices of lemon, garlic and parsley inside the fish. Next, rub the fish thoroughly with oil, salt and pepper. Place the fish on a metal baking rack and place it on a baking tray.

Preheat the oven with the grill function to 200 degrees Celsius. When the oven grill is well hot, place the fish directly under the grill on the first top shelf of the oven. Grill the fish for 10 minutes, then carefully remove the tray with the fish from the oven, being careful not to burn yourself turn the fish over. Put the fish back in the oven and continue grilling for another 10 minutes. Serve the grilled fish immediately.

The fish you use for grilling should be cleaned and have the scales removed.

If you decide to prepare grilled fish on a grill pan or on a garden grill, you must pay attention to the grilling time. It will differ slightly from the time needed for making the grilled fish in the oven.
