Ingredients for cabbage and sweet potato fritters.
- 400 g white cabbage
- 400 g sweet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1,5 tablespoon of fresh chili pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- 100 g plain flour
- oil for frying (I used sunflower)
How to make cabbage and sweet potato fritters.
Shred or cut the cabbage very thinly. Peel the potatoes and grate them on a large mesh. Transfer the shredded cabbage and the grated potatoes to a bowl and sprinkle with salt. Mix and set it aside for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, squeeze out the excess liquid. Add eggs, finely chopped chili pepper, cumin and flour. Mix until all ingredients are well combined together.
Pour oil into a pan and heat it up. Once the oil is shimmering scoop 2-tablespoon mounds of the vegetable mixture into the pan, flattening them slightly. Fry them until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Remove the fried fritters onto a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
Serve the fritters with sour cream, tomato sauce or any vegetable dip.
Enjoy!

Good to know when making cabbage and sweet potato fritters.
If you don’t like spicy food, do not add any chili peppers. I used 1.5 teaspoons of chili, as the chili I had was not spicy enough for my liking.
