Braised cabbage with potatoes and bacon

| |

Braised cabbage with potatoes and bacon is a simple dinner dish that can be prepared without much effort. The basis of this dish is cabbage, which I first fry in oil a little to brown the leaves. In the next step, I fry the bacon and onion, then combine it with vegetable broth, potatoes and spices. I stew the vegetables until they soften and serve them as a main course for dinner or lunch.

I used pointed cabbage to prepare the braised cabbage. Pointed cabbage is a white cabbage with delicate leaves. It is perfect for salads, pickles, fried or boiled. In the braised version, the cabbage can be cut coarsely, but I prefer to cut it into four large quarters, as larger pieces look better when served. I recommend you the following recipe for braised cabbage with potatoes and bacon and I hope you try this dish.
