French salad dressing

French vinaigrette

| | |

French salad dressing is undoubtedly one of the tastiest and salads, which is really worth preparing. The basis of French vinaigrette is olive oil, mustard, vinegar and shallots. The shallot onions have a delicate and somewhat sweet flavour with a spicy note. This onion is perfect for both cold and cooked sauces.

The preparation of a French vinaigrette is extremely simple. The only ingredient that needs to be cut is onion – the other ingredients of the sauce do not require prior preparation. Put all the ingredients for the puff sauce in a jar, then shake it quite vigorously for a while so that they merge with each other.

French vinaigrette is perfect for seasoning salads based on green lettuce. The creamy texture of the sauce helps it surround each lettuce leaf very carefully. If you haven’t done French sauce yet, I recommend the following recipe for French vinaigrette. You will definitely have the opportunity to use it when making salads for dinner or for a barbecue.

Good to know when making French vinaigrette.

The white wine vinegar can be replaced with red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar.

I used Himalayan salt to season the sauce. This salt has a slightly lighter taste than standard salt, so be careful not to over-salt the sauce when you use regular salt. It’s best to add a large pinch, then try the sauce and add more salt only if necessary.

The finished sauce can be kept for several days in the fridge. Despite the fact that the sauce contains shallots, they do not spoil the taste of the sauce even after a few days.
