Baked potatoes are liked not only by Poles, but also by the English. In England, a very popular dish is the so-called “jacket potatoes”, which are literally baked potatoes served with various toppings. The most popular are beans in tomato sauce, chili con carne, cottage cheese with cream or tuna with mayonnaise and cream. I also like prawns with apple, green onion, cream and mayonnaise as one of the toppings for baked potatoes. Today, however, I have for you a recipe for baked potatoes served with cottage cheese. Probably most of you have tried potatoes prepared in such a way, but if not yet, I recommend the following recipe for jacket potatoes with cottage cheese.
Ingredients for jacket potatoes with cottage cheese.
- 4 medium-sized potatoes (around 700 g)
- 250 g cottage cheese
- 150 g sour cream

- a pinch of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of butter
How to make jacket potatoes with cottage cheese.
Wash, clean and dry the potatoes, prick each of them with a fork and place them on a baking tray. Put the tray in an oven preheated to 190 degrees Celsius for one hour and 30 minutes. Before removing the potatoes from the oven, check with a fork if they are soft. Then, cut each potato in half and brush it with butter.
Put the cottage cheese into a bowl and mash it with a fork. Next, add finely chopped chives, salt, pepper and sour cream. Combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
Serve the jacket potatoes while still hot with the cottage cheese mix.

I recommend using potatoes that are best suited for baking. Varieties such as Russet or Vivaldi will be suitable.
Depending on the size of the potatoes, they may take more or less time in the oven. Before removing the potatoes from the oven, it is worth checking with a fork or a stick whether they are soft on the inside.
