Focaccia like a painting
Italian focaccia in a slightly different version, because it looks almost like a painting. It is prepared from yeast dough, on which vegetables and herbs are arranged, creating something like a picture. This focaccia looks beautiful and delights with both its appearance and taste. The perfect focaccia dough is fluffy and full of air bubbles typical for this type of baking, they make the focaccia light after baking.
The basic ingredients you must have in your pantry when making focaccia is all-purpose flour, olive oil, yeast and water. Focaccia dough can be made with both all-purpose flour and bread flour. In this particular recipe, I use traditional wheat flour of type 550. I combine the ingredients for the focaccia dough in a bowl and then put it in the fridge for a while. The dough rises in the refrigerator, air bubbles form in it, and the long time the dough spends in the refrigerator also has a positive effect on the taste of the baked focaccia. When it comes to vegetables and herbs that can be used to decorate the bread, the choice is entirely yours.
This focaccia works great as a sandwich base. After baking, just cut it in half lengthwise, fill it with your favourite cheese, meat, vegetables or spread, and cut it into smaller pieces. It is phenomenal for lunch, as a party snack and also as a picnic snack. I encourage you to try the below recipe for painting-like focaccia, and I hope you will enjoy it.

How to make focaccia like a painting.
Pour water into a cup or a bowl, add instant yeast and mix, then set aside for 5 minutes. Combine the flour, sugar, salt and yeast dissolved in water in a large bowl. Mix the ingredients with a spoon until they are thoroughly combined and a dough is formed. Drizzle the dough with olive oil and grease the sides of the bowl containing the dough as well. Cover the bowl with the dough with cling film and when ready, put it in the fridge for 20 hours. After removing the dough from the fridge, place it on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Place the dough in the middle of the tray, drizzle with olive oil and set it aside for about 4 hours or until the dough spreads on its own in the tray. Pour olive oil over the risen dough and then make a large number of indentations in it with your fingers, decorate the top with vegetables and herbs, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and drizzle with olive oil. Place the focaccia in the oven preheated to 220 degrees Celsius and bake for 25 minutes.

You can give the vegetables you use to decorate the focaccia any shape you like. I often cut olives in half or slice them, cut red onion into slices, and in these particular photos I also put slices of black olives in the middle of the onion. In turn, I put slices of green olives into the chili pepper slices.
I am attaching several photos of different focaccias to this recipe, their base is the same yeast dough, but they have slightly different additions. Of course, you can use your favourite herbs and vegetables to decorate the dough.
