Chimichurri is a sauce popular in Argentina and Uruguay, made from parsley, garlic, olive oil, oregano and red wine vinegar. The sauce is served fresh as an addition to meats and vegetables. The sauce is also great when used as a marinade. The recipe for chimichurri sauce is very simple, the sauce can be made just in few minutes..

Ingredients for chimichurri sauce.

  • 50 g fresh parsley
  • 1 big chili pepper
  • 1 Jalapeno pepper
  • 3 big cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 10 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dry oregano

How to make chimichurri sauce.

Wash the parsley, tear off the harder twigs then chop it finely. Dice the chili and jalapeno into small cubes. Squeeze the garlic through a press. Put the chopped parsley, garlic, pepper, salt, vinegar, oregano and olive oil into a cup. Mix it all very well.

Good to know when making chimichurri sauce.

I put all the ingredients into the kitchen processor and chopped them in it.
