Baked frankfurter sausages in puff pastry

Sausages baked in puff pastry

|

Today I have a recipe for a snack for you. Serve it to your guests during parties or as a breakfast snack.

If you have the energy and desire to make pastry at home, good on you 🙂

I decided to buy some in the shop. It is not expensive and, in my opinion, quality does not differ from home-made ones.

Once in the past I tried to make puff pastry at home. I did not do well. On the top of that it took me forever and I wasted a whole afternoon on it.

Having learned from experience I did rather not take the risk an avoided wasting time hence I am using a shop bought pastry 🙂

Ingredients for sausages baked in pastry.

  • 275 g of puff pastry
  • 20 pieces of thin frankfurters (6 cm long)
  • 1 spoon of Dijon mustard
  • 2 spoons of French mustard
  • 1 egg

How to prepare sausages in puff pastry.

Gently roll out the dough, spread the Dijon and French mustard on it, then divide it into 20 equal strips, about 1 centimetre thick. Gently wrap each of the strips around the individual sausages (one piece should have a length of around 6 cm). In the end brush them with an egg. Bake them on a baking trey lined with baking paper for 40 minutes at 200 Celsius degrees.

Enjoy!
