Waffles with sugar

Pumpkin waffles

| |

Waffles are baked goodies made by combining flour with milk, egg, sugar and salt. They are baked in a waffle iron, which gives them a characteristic, usually rectangular shape. Both sweet and savoury waffles are popular. Sweet ones are served with fruits, whipped cream, jam, ice cream or icing sugar. In the savoury version, you can serve waffles with poached egg, crispy bacon, avocado cream and lots of other dry additions. Waffles are perfect for breakfast or dinner. They are also a very tasty, quick dessert.

This time, I have for you a recipe for pumpkin waffles, which are made in the same way as traditional waffles. The difference between pumpkin waffles and traditional waffles lies in the ingredients used. As the name suggests, pumpkin waffles contain pumpkin puree. After baking, the pumpkin waffles are crunchy, soft inside and smell of cinnamon. I recommend serving them sprinkled with icing sugar.

How to make pumpkin waffles.

Put the egg yolks, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, vanilla extract and milk into a bowl. Whisk it for 2-3 minutes, then add the flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Next, beat the egg whites stiff with a pinch of salt, then gently mix them with the remaining ingredients in the bowl.

Heat the waffle iron, brush it lightly with oil, then use a ladle to pour the dough over it, spread it evenly with a spoon. Bake the waffles for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Serve sprinkled with icing sugar.
