Chocolate crinkles
If you haven’t yet tried chocolate crinkle cookies, you have to do it. These cookies are intensively chocolatey, look great and their preparation is super easy. Chocolate crinkles are made of a fairly thick chocolate cookie dough covered in icing sugar. During baking, the cookies will rise and spread, creating a cracked pattern on their surface.
The baking time of cookies depends on the final consistency you want the cookies to have on the inside. I like well-baked cookies the most – those need about 14 minutes in the oven. If you are a fan of slightly undercooked biscuits, something like brownies, you should keep the cookies in the oven for 12 or even just for 10 minutes.

Ingredients for chocolate crinkles.
- 300 g crystal sugar
- 100 g dark cocoa
- 100 ml sunflower oil
- 4 eggs (medium size)
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 60 g caster sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
How to make chocolate crinkles.
Pour oil into a bowl, add crystal sugar and whisk for 3-4 minutes. Then, add the eggs one-by-one, the vanilla extract, sifted flour and cocoa, baking powder and salt, all while whisking. Afterwards, whisk for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the ingredients combine well to form a thick chocolate cake. Cover the bowl with the dough with cling film and refrigerate for at least 4-5 hours.
Take the chocolate dough out of the refrigerator, scoop pieces out of it with a spoon and form balls 4-4.5 centimetres in diameter. Coat each ball very carefully in powdered sugar, then place them in a baking tray lined with baking paper, keeping lots of space between the cookies.
Put the cookies in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius. Bake for 12-14 minutes. After baking, allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes.
