Salmon paste on cucumber slices
Salmon paste on cucumber slices is a small snack from the finger food category, i.e. one that can be eaten without having to sit at the table and use cutlery. Preparing this snack is very quick and takes less than 10 minutes. There is no need to cook the ingredients used in this dish, as they are used either in smoked or raw form. To prepare salmon paste on cucumber slices, I start by mixing all the paste ingredients using a mixer. If you don’t have a mixer at home and you want to prepare this snack, just chop the salmon very finely and use a spoon to combine the fish with cream cheese, lemon juice and pepper. When the paste is ready, I cut the cucumber into thin slices and squeeze the previously prepared paste onto them. I decorate everything with fresh herbs, capers and grated lemon peel.

- 100 g smoked salmon slices
- 150 g cream cheese
- a pinch of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 salad cucumber
Optional for decoration:
- fresh dill
- grated lemon zest
- pickled capers
How to make salmon paste on cucumber slices.
Place slices of smoked salmon in the mixer, add cream cheese, lemon juice and ground black pepper. Mix until creamy and uniform. Place the salmon paste into a pastry bag with a nozzle attached. Wash the cucumber, dry it and cut it into 0.5 centimetre thick slices. Place the cucumber slices on a board or plate and squeeze a small amount of salmon paste onto each slice. The snack can be served as is, or decorated with pickled capers, dill and a bit of grated lemon peel.
