A fruit salad is a great way to combine several flavours of different fruits. During their respective seasons, these can be fresh fruits such as raspberries, strawberries, peaches, apricots, watermelon, melon, blueberries or blackberries. These fruits go well with banana, kiwi and pineapple, which can also be bought out of season. I make fruit salad all year round, and I often use canned fruit in addition to the fresh ones. The canned fruits I add most often to fruit salads are peaches and pineapple.
Personally, I am a fan of the kind of fruit salads, which is flavoured only with a little honey and lemon juice. This does not mean, however, that the salad cannot be served with other additions, on the contrary. Whipped cream, chocolate sauce and natural yoghurt all go well with fruits. It’s really up to what you prefer.
I serve fruit salads for dessert or eat it during the day. I also often serve it to my guests when we prepare a barbecue. I encourage you to try the the following recipe for a fruit salad, I hope you will enjoy it.
