Something sweet and chocolate without baking? No problem 🙂
Recently while doing shopping I spotted some puffed rice.
It brought back some memories from the childhood as that was the last time I ate it.
Somehow over the past few years I completely forgot about it, which was a mistake. A mistake I now fixed by making these chocolate balls.
Execution of this dessert took 15 minutes. The balls are really super fast to make and all without baking.
If you have children, I recommend to make the chocolate balls with them. It will be great fun for them 🙂
Ingredients for puffed rice balls.
- 2 cups of puffed rice
- 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
- 4 tablespoons of water
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 100 g of chocolate
- 100 g of finely chopped walnuts
How to prepare chocolate balls.
Mix sugar, cocoa, water and butter in a pan. Put on a medium heat and constantly stir while bringing it to boil. When the chocolate cream begins to boil, reduce heat and continue cooking for 2 minutes, constantly stirring. Add the chocolate in small pieces and take it all from the heat. Once the chocolate is melted, slightly cool the chocolate cream down. Add the puffed rice to the still warm cream and mix it well. Put some chocolate on hand, amount depending on the size of the balls we want. Make a ball and toss it in the chopped nuts. The prepared chocolate balls need to be cooled down in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Good to know when making puffed rice balls.
When you add the milk chocolate and take the cream off the heat, it should be cool but not cold. One minute should be enough for it to cool down.
