Smoked salmon is a type of fish that I have been eating quite regularly lately. Next to cheese and ham, it is one of my favourite ingredients that I use when making breakfast and supper. This fish can be served in many ways. For example, it works great in the form of carpaccio, on sandwiches, in bagels, salads, pancakes, fillings and many other dishes. It goes perfectly with cream cheese, lemon juice and fresh herbs. The only downside I still see when it comes to smoked salmon is its price, because unfortunately it is not the cheapest. Nevertheless, I encourage you to eat this fish, because it is very healthy. Ingredients for smoked salmon salad.

  • 1 tablespoon of pickled capers
  • 150 g lettuce (Little Gem)
  • 150 g sliced smoked salmon
  • 100 g red rice
  • 100 g salad cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 100 g celery stalk
  • 50 g shallots
  • 4-5 tablespoons of ranch dressing
  • 1/2 teaspoon of himalayan salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

How to make smoked salmon salad.

Cook the red rice according to the instruction on its package – it took me 30 minutes. Drain the cooked rice from the water, let it cool down, and when cold, put it on a serving plate.

Wash the cucumber, dry it and cut it into thin slices with its peel on. Cut the celery stalk into thin slices, finely chop the shallots, and cut the lettuce leaves into medium-sized pieces.

Place the rice on a plate with some salt, then put the chopped vegetables on it and sprinkle with the remaining salt. Sprinkle the capers on the vegetables and arrange the slices of smoked salmon. Pour ranch dressing over the top, season with freshly ground black pepper and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Good to know when making smoked salmon salad.

The ingredients of this salad can be arranged in layers, alternating or mixed together before serving. The sauce should be added to the salad only when you serve it.

The Himalayan salt can be replaced with iodized salt. However, the amount should be reduced.

Instead of shallots, you can use chives, white onion or green onion.
