Fries have a huge fan base. You can find them in practically every restaurant as a garnish. Some people also like having fries in themselves with some dips or only sauce.
Fries are not the healthiest food, because unfortunately they are deep fried in oil.
And what to do if someone cannot eat fried food? The answer is very simple – you have to bake the food instead of frying 🙂
That’s how I prepared the fries in the recipe below. I baked in the oven with the addition of a little sweet paprika.
And to introduce something new, I used celeriac instead of potatoes.
In this way I made a light, crispy and non-standard dish. 🙂

Peel the celeriac, wash it and dry with a paper towel. Then cut it up into little sticks of about 1 centimetre thickness.
Mix oil, salt, cumin, pepper and parsley in a bowl. Rub the celeriac sticks in this spice mixture. Set aside for 5 minutes.
Then place the sticks on a baking tray and bake them in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius until soft and crispy.
Preparation of the sauce: pour saffron in boiling water and let it cool. Mix cream cheese, the saffron with water, salt, pepper, finely chopped herbs and yoghurt in a bowl. The sauce is ready.
French fries can be served with vegetable dip or as an addition to other dishes or by themselves. I liked them the best when served with cream cheese sauce whose recipe I attached for you.
When baking French fries, it is best to use a larger sheet, so that they are well spread.
