Homemade hot chocolate is a delicious milk drink that is perfect for cold autumn evenings. This chocolate is extremely easy to make, full of flavour and delicious. To prepare homemade hot chocolate, I use milk, dark cocoa powder, dark chocolate, sugar and a bit of vanilla extract. The finished hot chocolate is served with a dash of whipped cream and sprinkled with grated chocolate. The taste of hot chocolate can be diversified by adding spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger. A popular side dish, that especially Americans like to serve the hot chocolate with, are mini marshmallows. I recommend you the following recipe for hot chocolate and hope you will enjoy it.

How to make hot chocolate.
Pour milk into a pot, add crystal sugar, sifted cocoa and vanilla extract. Stirring from time to time, preferably with a kitchen whisk, bring it to a boil, but do not boil. Remove the pot from the heat, then add the dark chocolate broken into pieces and stir for a while until the chocolate dissolves completely. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs, garnish with whipped cream and grated chocolate. Serve immediately after preparation.

Good to know when making hot chocolate.
I make this hot chocolate with addition of dark chocolate, which in my opinion gives this drink a unique flavour. Dark chocolate addition makes the consistency of the hot chocolate thicker. The dark chocolate can be replaced with milk chocolate, but the taste of the drink will not be so intense, instead rather delicate.
Personally, I don’t like too sweet hot chocolate, so I don’t add too much sugar to this hot chocolate. If you like a little sweeter hot chocolate, add a little more sugar. You can replace the crystal sugar with light brown sugar or erythritol.
