This year, I will miss some of the activities that I would normally perform with my family over the holiday season. It is almost an annual tradition for us to visit Advent markets. Hot wine reigns supreme in these supermarkets, but you can also find other interesting drinks, such as liqueurs. One of such liqueurs that is undoubtedly worth trying is gingerbread. Gingerbread liqueur is a combination of golden rum with milk, sugar and spices.
You can prepare gingerbread liqueur in a few minutes. You can enjoy it during the holiday season and give it as a gift. For example, every year, apart from the gifts bought in the store, I bake homemade cookies, which I pack nicely and give to my family as a gift. Try it 馃檪

- 200 g light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon gingerbread spice
- 400 g condensed milk
- 1 vanilla extract
- 250 ml milk
- 1 tablespoon of dark cocoa
How to make gingerbread liqueur.
Pour milk, condensed milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread spice and cocoa in a pot. Stir, then put it on heat and while stirring frequently, bring it to boil. From the moment it starts boiling, keep it on a medium heat for a minute so that the sugar is completely dissolved. Next, remove it from the heat, add vanilla extract and cool it down.
Pour the cold mixture from the pot through a fine sieve, add rum and mix thoroughly. Pour the liqueur into bottles and store in the fridge.

Good to know when making gingerbread liqueur.
All dry spices, including cocoa, should be sifted through a sieve before adding them to the liquid ingredients.
If you want to completely eliminate spice residues, you can also pour the liqueur through gauze.
You can replace the vanilla extract with vanilla sugar.
