A smoothie is a drink made of pureed vegetables and / or fruits, usually diluted with natural water, coconut water, fruit juice, yogurt, milk or ice cream. This drink perfectly refreshes and fills in at the same time.
The majority of vegetables and almost all fruits can be used to prepare a smoothie. Broccoli, carrots, spinach, kale, zucchini, cucumber, cauliflower or beetroot will work great in this drink.
The following recipe for a healthy smoothie is based on a combination of beetroot, orange, apple and carrot. I made this beetroot smoothie without any sugar, which I replaced with maple syrup. To dilute the mixed ingredients, I used the most ordinary natural water.

Ingredients for beet smoothie.
- 2 tablespoons of lime juice
- 150 g beets (peeled)
- 150 g carrot
- 200 g apples
- 150 g orange (peeled)
- 500 ml water
- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
How to make beet smoothie.
Put the chopped beetroot, carrot, apple and orange pieces into a blender. Add lime juice, maple syrup and water. Blend all ingredients into a homogeneous, liquid consistency. Store the finished smoothie in the fridge.
Good to know when making beet smoothie.
If you prefer a more liquid consistency for your smoothie, add more water.
The apple and carrot used for the smoothie were unpeeled, I simply washed them very well. I peeled the orange, removed the white skin where possible and added the orange pieces.
