Homemade gingerbread spice
Gingerbread spice is a mix that is most popular during the Christmas season. It is added to cakes and cookies. You can of course get this spice from the shop, but if you have the ingredients at home, why not make it yourself? By making it yourself, you have the option of freely combining spices: you can add more of some and less of others. The basis of each gingerbread spice mix are spices such as cinnamon, cloves, star anise or nutmeg. They have an intense, beautiful smell and thanks to them, each cake acquires a unique aroma.
How to make gingerbread spice? If you have all the ingredients of this spice at home in already ground, all you have to do is combine them together. However, for those spices that require grinding, you will need the help of a coffee grinder or mortar. The end result in both cases should be a loose spice, in a form of a powder. Below, I leave you a recipe for homemade gingerbread spice, I encourage you to prepare it on your own.
