Chicken in honey and lemon marinade

Baked chicken legs

| | | | | | |

Properly baked chicken legs are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Very few people are able to resist them if at all.

Any type of meat, regardless of its kind, tastes best when marinated beforehand. The marinade can be sweet or spicy. It is important though, to prepare it early enough to give the meat a chance to infuse all the flavours.

Quite often, I prepare marinade from honey, lemon and French mustard. I combine it with chicken meat and it tastes great. This marinade gives the meat a sweet and citrus flavour.

How to make baked chicken legs.

Wash the chicken legs, then dry them on a paper towel.

Pour pepper, salt, finely chopped onion, honey, mustard, sliced lemon and oil into a bowl. Mix well. Put the chicken legs in and rub each leg with the marinade. Cover the bowl with a lid and refrigerate for 12 hours.

Take the marinated meat out of the fridge and transfer it into a baking sleeve. Place the sleeve on the baking tray in an oven preheated to 190 degrees Celsius for 1.5 hours.

Serve the baked chicken legs with potatoes, rice, groats or by themselves with lettuce.

Good to know when making baked chicken legs.

I used chicken legs for baking. However, you can replace them with drumsticks or wings.

When it came to selecting the onion, I decided to use shallots. This type of onion works very well in the marinade as it is not as spicy as the white onion, so it only gave the meat a delicate flavour.
