Baked rice with apples is a delicious dish that works well for dessert or lunch. To prepare rice with apples, start by frying the apples and cooking the rice in milk. The cooked rice should be creamy but still slightly liquid. When it comes to the type of apples, choose the one you like the most. When I have the opportunity, I choose Russel apples, because apples of that variety have a slightly sour, wonderful taste. Next, the cooked rice and apples should be placed in a baking dish, spread with butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Finally, everything goes to the oven for at least 30 minutes. Serve the baked rice with apples warm, without any additions.

Ingredients for rice baked with apples.
- 700 g Russet apples
- 6 tablespoons of crystal sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- 100 ml water
- 300 g rice
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons crystal sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- a pinch of cinnamon
- 1.2 ml milk
How to make rice baked with apples.
Peel the apples, cut them into small cubes and put them into a bowl. Add vinegar, sugar, mix and set aside for 1 hour. After that, put the apples into a pot, add water and cinnamon and bring it to a boil. Then simmer until the apples are tender. It took me 10 minutes.
Before cooking, rinse the rice in cold water, which you should change twice. Pour milk, salt, vanilla, 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of sugar into a pot. Boil the milk, then add the rice to it. Bring the whole thing back to a boil, then simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring the rice from time to time.
Grease a heat-resistant baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter, place half of the rice and spread the cooked apples evenly on it. Cover the apples with the remaining rice, sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon, sugar and brush with 1 tablespoon butter. Cover the form with aluminium foil and put in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius for 30-35 minutes.

I used a round-shaped baking tin with a diameter of 26 centimetres.
In my version, I have gone for medium-grain white rice, but you can also choose long-grain rice.
My suggestion would be to start cooking the rice with 1 litre of milk. Depending on the type of rice used, it may require more or less milk. I used the entire amount of milk, i.e. 1.2 litres.
