Banana bread with walnuts
Banana bread is always a great way to use up very ripe bananas, i.e. those that are extremely sweet inside and are very soft. Apart from bread, these bananas are also great in oatmeal or donuts. The following recipe for banana bread is very simple and the bread is quite quick to make. I recommend it for dessert, breakfast and also as a sweet snack.

Ingredients for banana bread.
- 220 g all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 150 g light brown sugar
- 2 big bananas (220 g)
- 100 g butter
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 2 large eggs
- 60 g natural yoghurt
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 50 g walnuts
How to make banana bread.
Place peeled walnuts on a chopping board and chop coarsely with a knife. Put peeled bananas in a bowl and mash them with a fork. In the bowl of a kitchen mixer, combine soft butter with brown sugar and a pinch of salt – beat it for about 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, constantly mixing the ingredients. Then, pour in the vanilla extract and natural yoghurt, add mashed bananas, flour sifted through a sieve, cinnamon and baking soda. Finally, add chopped nuts, mix the batter with a spoon, then transfer it to a rectangular baking tin lined with baking paper. Place the cake batter in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for 45-50 minutes. Remove the baked banana bread from the oven, place it on a wire rack and cool it down.

I bake the bread in a metal, rectangular baking tin measuring 12 by 21 centimetres.
The walnuts can be replaced with pecans. You can also add broken dark chocolate or chocolate chips to the bread batter if you prefer it that way.
